Just wanted to know if replacement Calmini Bushes are available for individual purchase? One of the bushes on the A-Frame arm of my Vit has flogged out and is causing a fairly noticable rear driveline clunk. If so, where can I get hold of them and if not, any other recommendations?

Thanks,

Stuart.

hey stuey,

i'm not sure if you can get the bushes separately, you could pop one out and measure it & try to find an aftermarket replacement. but it probably wont be blue... it's strange that that bush has blown out, i would have thought those top bushes wouldn't do that much work?

does your heim joint have any play in it?

Pretty sure you can re-order them from CALMINI in America, but it might take a while. I can get my price sheet they sent me tomorrow if you like.

What sort of clunking do you mean? I don't know if it's supposed to happen, but mine clunks a bit just when I take off after taking off my handbrake. Haven't had a good look though.

No play in heim joint. You can shake the car back and forward and actually see the free play in the bush. At least 5mm of play. Not so noticable when driving on normal roads, but going over speed bumps, uneven surfaces etc you can hear and feel the movement, particularly at low speed. Suspension shop maybe for an aftermarket bush you think?

woah, flashbacks... 8O

it was installed November 2006 & i'm guessing it's done around 60,000kms, the heim joint is getting sloppy & the bushes still looked fine about this time last year, they got re-lubed & refitted during the build down/rebuild saga.

i really don't know, maybe from not enough use

from what i can work out the heim joint does most of the lateral flexing in that top A frame, the bushes would take longitudinal loading the from acceleration & braking.

Mine squeeks like fk when you push it side to side. Very annoying to drive. I've tracked it down to the rear trailing arm, but it could possibly be the hemi joint.

Yeah, Gus nailed it. Its the movement associated with acceleration and braking. Only flogged out on one side.

Smart arse about lack of use....... problem is you're so right! Never find time to get out anymore, fucken work cracking the whip.

I'm going to drop most of the parts with bushes and give them a lube up. I few bits have been squeeking lately so they are due.

Good news about lowrange! I'll get on to them.
