ok well i know they have been alot of posts about what is the best ect atm i have suspension that looks like its needing replacing the hole car leans a little to the right ...now this is wat i want maxium flex and 2 inch lifted any ideas ? what brands do u guys sugest i herd oem is good im not sure about tough dog ..or iron man

Everyone has there own idea on what is best... and everyone here will give you a different answer... best bet is research... lots of research... learn everything you want to do, compare different lifts, search for feed back, find build up of people who have done things...

Its easy to ask what to put in there but if you dont understand what needs to be done then your going to accomplish fuck all.

The search button is your friend. So is google.

My 2 cents non the less. START CHEAP! Commodore/hiace shocks & efs/ome springs. dont try to be tricky and do a reverse shackle 3/4 ellipctical ruf or your going to struggle... Just do a basic lift and use that as a starting point... drive it for a few months, then when you want more... start researching a different setup.

is your suspension too stiff? if its just because its leaning then swap the sides. i think your rig has too have 2" already or else you wouldnt be riding on 31's without some serious guard work or body lift. im going OME in the rear and ruf. im replacing my shitfull 2" lift due the the rigidness/ limited flex and poor ride comfort. i have some no name ebay crap DONT GET IT. also rubber bushes over urthane if flex is what your after

also as said above commonwhore and hiace/hilux shocks are cheap and good, im use them and am very happy

there are many ways to do ruf including farily simple and complicated dependin on what you want to achieve, ie moving diff forward and allowing larger tyers etc.

I used to think the same about spring bushes. No longer though. I run OME bushes and ebay urethane bushes and they are both quite stiff. The fact is, they both still flex untill other things in my suspension bind or prevent more travel. If your suspension is set up to flex well, it will, no matter what bushes you have in there (short of wooden ones (Hello Zukenutter ) or something....lol).


The commodore/2wd Hilux is an OK starting point. I really struggle to give an exact answer on what works, because over the 5.5 years of owning my Sierra, I have had that many different suspension configurations in it, and none of them I have been 100% happy with. Maybe oneday I'll totally get the shirts with it, and figure out how to coil it

good points, as stated the commodore hiace/hilux is a good cheap starting point, with ruf setups you may find that longer shocks will be needed to allow the maximum travel created. i plan on keeping my commodore ones in the front until they die, if they too restictive on down travel or i become motivated enough to find longer ones.
