my 95 sierra over heated on friday night and blew the core on my radiator,yesterday i replaced the radiator , waterpump , fan belt, thermostat & radiator hoses i just filled it all up with coolant run it with out the cap off till got up to temp then put the cap back on i came back to check it after a couple of minutes and the guage was off the end of red zone just curious were the temp sender is or if there could be something else going wrong

Temp sender is on the thermostat housing, Will have one wire coming off of it via spade connector.

you want the fire & brimstone or the hippy way.

Hippy. you may of fitted the thermostat upside down, or it has air under it, causing it to blow the water out..

thanks stek i pulled the thermostat out cheched it in some water on the stove in case it was a dodgy new one put it back in still done the same thing so went and got a after market temp gauge and sender all seems good so far ran it for over an hour and didnt go over 180degrees fareinheight

you need to bleed teh thermostat, easy way is keep the revs up a bit until the thermostat gets hot enough to open

Also help's to have the front of the car slightly uphill.
