What does a new set of rocker arms and shafts worth for a sohc g13b.
I forgot to price them up from Repco today and I want to weigh up my options tonight.

Is a 2nd hand head an option? You should be able to pick up something pretty cheap.

2nd hand would be good.(would have to be in sweet nik though)
Does the gti dohc head fit up to my sohc block? Would I need a new timming belt tensioner or dizzy drive?

The DOHC head will fit but you'll probably have to change your pistons. Why not get a 2nd hand head and use it and your buggered one to make a good one?

It's on the cards just tying to find my best option thanks for the help.
Has anybody got new rockers before?
Or does anybody have a good head laying around?

Yes!! Turns out my valve train is all good.
It was just the gay Chinese verniors I was using.(now twisted in a knot and thrown in the bin hehehe)
I waved the mitotoyos over it and everything came up within limits

G13b as in the GTi engine which has a DOHC head and operates the valves directly off the camshaft, as opposed to the 8 valve head that you have which uses rockers. The engine you have is known as a G13ba. Yeah confusing i know :lol:
