What are the general dimensions? And what 5mm plate steel be thik enough in everyones opinion?

What would the minimum thickness be for a sierra for sliders like this?

and does the step help at all in keeping the doors/body a little more protected or is it just something else to get hung up on?

The 5mm would be more than ample, of your bending that it would be the least of your worries :wink:

Yes, the step would help with a little bit more protection to the doors

they look good mate.
i've done similar style slider, but from 5mm angle and mounted them ONLY to the body. i don't like the solid link between body and chassis. you can have a look on the link below if you like.

They give so much more clearance i had some 3mm folded into the profile and nutcerted them onto the side and bottom of the sill have given them a hiding over the last few months and the are still straight and solid.

u will need 1100mm of 100x100 angle plus a 250mmx 100mm wide plate
this is perside

also will need 1.6m of 2inch pipe just to be safe

from 100x100 angle iron to inside of 2inch pipe is 65mm

anything else u guys need

here are some pics of mine fitted them on with nutserts on the side and underneath the sill and put a rubber seal around the edge to stop the crap from getting in.
