Here is my setup. With the Oztent awning hanging over the end of the trailer I get a bit of cover when cooking. Mind you, I really like Fatzooks trailer.

Mine is a great trailer, but an average camper. It needs alot of work to finish it off as a camper, like pole storage, kitchenette, awnings etc. But I use mine as a trailer all the time, so I can't justify converting it into a full on camper just yet.

Still, its a great base for a camper, and the perfect size for a zook

is a good little setup! but IMO you need atleast one tarp/ canvas side, and a floor. PERFECT!

That's the hard part, getting the perfect size (and weight) to suit a small engine car. Could have got a lot better setups but when fully loaded with food, water, gear and fuel the weight was a bit high and at least with my current tent and trailer I can travel and still enjoy the drive.

I love my oz tent!
it's the reason I wouldn't get any kind of rooftop tent set up on a trailer.

I have side panels for mine. well worth the extra $$$

Don't use Sierra leaves. They are too soft and will cause the trailer to sway. Shockies help but not enough and the whole lot will weigh double that of proper trailer springs. Slippers are simple and almost fool proof but probably not the best for off road but fine for dirt road and beach. Lightest option too. Aim about 100-200 kg higher rated than what your trailer will weigh loaded.

Undersprung will sway. Oversprung will bounce.

Our trailer
-The axle matched to Jimny axle width.
-Steel frame with Aluminium sheets and checkerplate (All hand folded and cut)
-Tyres 215/80R15 (Half way between 215/75 & 235/75)
-Canvas was bought ready to bolt on and the trailer frame was specifically built to match
-1500kg axle

The half Sierra trailer swayed on the highway, with shocks. On the soft sand it pitched a lot.

StupidCheap springs are perfect for the load we carry, I can't remember what mine are rated but they were the lesser of the springs they carry. Will have a look tomorrow.

Had a look today at StupidCheap. They are the 3 leaf slipper springs, each rated to 300kg (combined load carrying of 600kg) these have worked out perfect for my trailer when loaded to 400 - 450kg Total weight.

I would go to a trailer place and get springs with rebound springs on the clamps. That way u don't need shocks

we have decided against a big adventure holiday this year in favour of just heading to Exmouth for a couple of weeks.

but will still build a trailer but wont have to be done b4 June now.
so i'm going to put if off for a little bit.

on a crazy saving plan too... I know it will pay off later but atm being tight for cash is getting to me. not use to having to think about where my cash is going...

Thinking of getting a 6x4 from here and swapping my hubs, wheels and rooftop tent over then keeping my trailer for tip runs and what not
