with 6.5 and 4.6s your looking at 4200 at 100 in high range from what i can figure
im looking at about 3700
if i go back to 3.7 diffs and get 4.1 transfer gears i will be about 3400

Im going 4.6 diff gears for strength over the 3.9's
I also have 4.9 transcase and have 33's but was thinking I might go 35's.
Mine
J20a/AW4/4.9/4.6/31 = 3400 @ 100klms
J20a/AW4/4.9/4.6/33 = 3300 @ 100klms
J20a/AW4/4.9/4.6/35 = 3200 @ 100klms
I did think that 4.1 gears would have been plenty but I got convinced by a mate to go 4.9's
I do have a 1L case here but Im thinking I might be good for Engineering,RWC, Rego etc.

yours being the AW4 has a much higher gear range though.
the manual is much lower.
aw4 is
1st 2.826
2nd 1.493
3rd 1.000
4th 0.730
5th N.A.
Rev 2.703
5 speed is 3.652
1.947
1.379
1.000
0.864
3.670

So my J20 vit runs at 3250rpm @100 on stocko tyres. It has 4.6 diff gears and 1:1 high range. Standard tyre is a 205/65 R16 (26.5").
My ute now has J20 and 5sp, 6.5:1 transfer (20% reduction over standard WT gears), 4.6 diff gears, and 33's (22% taller than stock SV420)
so what RPM will it now do at 100kph? I also have a set of 5.14's for transfer, but there is only a 1.7% decrease in reduction between the 5.14's and 6.5's.....

with my cals you will be doing 4251.180 at 100 ks in 5th
with 5.1s you will do 4200.870
3.7s and standard transfer you would do 2850.872
3.7s with 4.1s = 3196.861
4.6s and 4.1 transfer your still gonna be doing 3974.476

Pretty rare aren't they?
How would they stack up with a 4.16 T/Fer?

they arent the most common diffs in the world as far as i know.
doesnt really help alot any way. gives you 3700 at 100
4.3 and a standard case gives you 3300

How is a 4.6 diff stronger than a 3.9 diff?

Yes I do. Which is why the 4.3 would be the lowest possible ratio I could use for the rear diff.
And I think damo was commenting on Remydog's post

Have emailed you a gear ratio spread sheet Pete.
Have a look and see what combo you can come up with.

Pete
Your j20a/vit 5spd/4.6 diffs with a 4.1 trans.
I get 73 Final crawl ratio with 3600rpm @100klms with 33's
This is very similar to what 00zuk runs

as my motor turned up on a pallet i have never had the standard exhaust ( besides my hyper gonad custom manifold). turns out after a cleanup i have a fair bit of exhaust here off a few different cars, so
can someone tell me the diameter of the standard exhaust tube and also the diameter of them flash extractors some you cool kids have?
i'm after a silent car but don't want to choke it to death like my old maruti running a g16 and standard 1lt pee shooter exaust

Standard pipe size is 2" press bent. I'm running 2" mandrel on mine for a slight performance gain without all the theatre that larger pipes add
