hello,

Im in the process of doing the 1.6 swap. Upto the dash swapover bit. Now ive got a photo of the 1.6 speed sensor in the 1.3 dash. Theres a little hole with a screw thread in there. My question is should there be a screw going in there as i completely forgot if i pulled one out or not???

There would not have been a screw in there

You need to put a screw in there, clean some of the green film off before you put the screw in and that will become the earth for the VSS

The hole to the left of the one you circled will also need a screw in it as it will be where you hook up the wire from the VSS to the input on the computer

Plenty of info in the thread for ya

ok could someone possibly tll me the descriptions of these wires. I had a loom modded for me and it should be easy. However im getting confused and pissed off quick. Heres a picture the 1st picture close up are wires that are spat out right near the ecu/relays. The wire colours are yellow, yellow with black stripe, white, black with white stripe, pink with black stripe, purple with yellow stripe and a black with 2 red stripes.

The 2nd picture is two wires that are about 600mm back of the relays. Theres a earth cable and a dark brown cable.

If some awsome person could please name the wires for me that would be awsome. I already know the cables with a circle crimp is to be earthed.

Ok not 100% sure on all of them

Yellow= VSS input to comp
Yellow/Black= Start signal
Black/White= IGN 12V
Pink/Black= Fuel pump
Purple/Yellow= Check engine light
White = 12V Constant
Black/Red= Main 12V from engine fuse

As i said, I'm not 100% on these as i done the wiring on mine a few weeks ago now but if you want i can email you all the wire diagrams i used which should be able to help you out

Best thing to do would be speak to who ever it was that modded your loom as they would be able to tell you what wire does what and where it should be hooked up too

Cheers
