I was looking underneath yesterday and it's pissing out oil looks like gear box oil but not sure . Whos a mechanic that noes there zooks well in Brisbane area?? Is suzuki any good?

Get some degreaser man clean it all up
Gerni it off. Do u know the smell difference between gear/diff oil compared to sump oil. If u clean it properly you should be able to see where it's coming from. Take a picture and put it up

yeah i no the different smells and it seems to be coming out the gear box . the engine oil is also reading fine and for the amount that is coming out it would show on the dip stick . theres like a covr plate that goes from gear box to the engine and its sorta pealed back . not sure if this jsut a dust cover or it keeps the oil in lol . looks like a cunt of a job i dnt realy wana start pulling shit apart.

If it's what t I think it is the bottom plate under your bellhousing u could of done a rear main seal in the engine. But u shud be able to smell sump oil it wouldn't be box oil. Unless uve done a seal around the input shaft

Take a picture of the plate I dare say it's the inspection plate that screws onto ur bellhousing

I Doubt Rear Main if it hasn't used any oil.

Definitly could be the input shaft seal though. Best way is to clean it all up like reeceh said. it will be much easier to see where exactly its leaking from

If it is Eric u will have to drop the tailshaft and drop the gearbox out. Day of work. Not sure if u have to split the transfer case u shud be able to pull it out in one go also pull off front shaft.

looks like engine oil to me. Its rare for gearbox oil to blow that far forward. I'd say rear main seal or dizzy o-ring seal up top. Is there any oil around the back of the head/ dizzy housing?

Not a noticeable leak behind there but seems to leak worse after it been driven

I would be concentrating on the dizzy before pulling the box out. Not saying it's not the rear main but always pays to start at the top with oil leaks

Yep, I rekon it's the rear main seal, That's where mine was leaking from, replaced the seal (and the clutch at the same time) No more leak

how bad was your leak ? was it constant driping ? becuase i cleaned it and it hasnt dripped at all . fkn spinning me out .

Well thats what im thinking it may have been because i put some oil in it about a week ago ( its always had a little leak) but i always use a funnel , but i cant say i didnt spill it lol , and becuase i have the bash plates it prob jsut sat ontop of it . i guess the only real way to no is to realy give it a good clean and go from there

Oi Eric if u want a clutch I can get my brother to get one cheap through his workshop. He quoted me 120 for a hd daikin clutch

Clean it all up, so it all looks shiny and new, make sure you get right up behind the dizzy and all your bash plates, wack them all back together. drive it for a week, then check it again...

if no oil is present.

Clearly the oil is not clean and new, plus we have already been told up top is nice and clean with no oil

At first I only noticed 1 or 2 drops. Over a month It got to the point where it would leave a small puddle and I'd have to top it up at least once a fortnight. And yep, only drips when the oil is hot.

I had the rear main replaced, and now I'm allowed to park in the driveway again

The real annoying thing is that the seals cost about $20-30 but is a pain to replace, so you might as well replace the clutch while everything is apart.
