I work for Michelin so i get my tyres for free
I think they are around $230 each for 215/75x15 i haven't looked at the price list for a few weeks

I've got brigdestone M/T's i've done about 5000kms on them, and they are wearing out pretty fast, well the edge of the tyres are,it's a shame, cus they are good tyres but they are wearing out to fast.

monkey - i wear mine out fast because of how i drive... hard acceleration and braking and fast cornering on a daily driven zuk does that.

this said the KM2 went 6 months with no signs of wear. in that time my cooper STTs had shown signs and the simex's had probably dropped to 75% tread. the KL71 thus far arent showing signs of wear either other than a little chipping from the rocks.

KM2 are a brilliant all terrain tyre though... their bar-tread style pattern makes them just chug through anything.

It depends if your Zook is gonna be a daily driver, or just a weekend warrior... if just a daily, its doesnt really justify MT's... and MT's are generally more expensive than AT's... i would say just get some good brand AT's, and if you want a tough AT, get them in the LT ( Light Truck ) build, they have more ply's... if come out with us on a trip, you can check out all the different AT's and MT's people are using !

I have had detroit lockers, hate them, they decide, not you, when to engage, fuk that, air or nothing.

215/75/r15's hankook dynapro RT03's.

google them for reviews, but a very very good tyre, little wear and tear and i have had them in every terrain WA will throw at you and they havent let me down.

here is my 2 cents,

what can you get away with?

depends if you get an arsehole cop, but most of them are pretty laid back guys and really hot gals, so unless you are acting like a knob, you should be fine.

as others have said, its not the cops i would be worried about, there are PLENTY of 'illegal' lifts on bigger 4wd's like pootrols/cruisers, if something went wrong in those there wold be much more damage then a sierra, to what ever you hit i mean.

but its the insurance side of things.

maybe you are driving along and your missus is giving you a hell of a deep throat BJ, its a little distracting, of course, and things go a little hazy and your legs go like jelly for a second or 10 depending on how good she is. you swerve and hit a BMW causing extensive damage to the car and the drivers 4 year old daughter, who is now paralysed and needs a shit load of on going medical attention from specialist doctors in the UK.

can you afford to pay the bill for the BMW and the medical bills for the daughter and not have to get your folks to sell their house and themselves to help pay the bill?

idk weather its any help but "just car" insurance insure cars with ilegal mods as long as u specifie what they are. i found it reasonably cheep to. they have a online quote thingo on there website.

when i was looking for insurance for the sierra. i filled it out including a 2 inch suspension lift, 29s, webber (technicaly ilegal with out engineering), race seats (also need engineering) and interior mods. they quoted $330 for third party insurance over 12 months (me being on Ps for less than a week)....
