hey guys few weeks back i noticed i was leaking oil outta the rear of trasnfer case on my suzuki seirra 94 model how hard is it to change the rear seal cheers

If its the output seal your talking about, Remove tailshaft from transfer, remove flange from transfer, remove seal, new seal and stick everthing back together... The flange will be a bastard to undo...

i had a look at my flange on the end of the shaft coming out of the transfer case how do u remove it ?? its got alot of crap on it lol cheers

You need to take off the four bolts (14 mm socket/spanner?) to drop the tailsahft.

Once that's out you'll see a big nut (26mm?) in the centre of the flange. Getting that flange nut off is a big challenge. If the case is still in the car it maybe easier... Put the car in 4wd and in gear and it should stop the flange from spinning whilst you turn the nut. It make take some serious effort to shift that nut though.

Once the nut is out the flange just slides off and you'll see the seal behind it. Prise the old seal out and stick the new one in, and then put everything back together again!

You may need to get a genuine seal though, I know mine is still leaking with an aftermarket one...

A Genuine one? I just got one from the bearing shop which when I got home looked identical to the one that came in the lowrange offroad kit.

Im useing the lowrange one and havent had an issue.. Just make sure everything is clean when it goes together... My gearbox output leaks due to damage to the mounting surface caused by someone trying to pry the seal out, mite be an issue with your transfer..

Nah, it's mint, the seal was super easy to push in though, just got to find a genuine one.
