I start my car, put my boots on then drive, but it's not til i get out of my street that the car is up to temp, so then onto the main road and drive it normally for the 3min drive left to work

I agree so many customers do the whats considered as normal driving services. ppl need to read there owners manual as 99% of ppl dont do normal driving and need more regular oil changes. Having replaced timming chains in V6s as low as 65000km just out of warranty time is not an uncommon occurance. They all do short trips and change there oil every 15000km intervals. Funny there all sludged when I pull em apart

The car had done next to no km's for the first 8months i had it. I think about 2000km's in 8 months, it's only now i have racked up the km's on it. It goes in for 15,000km or 1 year service next month, but after that i will be changing the oil every 3 months. I did not feel the need to do change the oil every 3 months only been driven once a week, before the start of this year.

its even more important to change your oil more often if you do low kms or dont get the car warm enough as all the condensation and conbustion acids sit in your sump and fuck shit up.
thats why taxis last for so many kms , they dont get switched off as often and always are at operating temp for long periods

The minute oil is used in an engine it starts to break down, you get huge acid build ups in oil that is running at temp for extended periods

What sucks is doing a 6 month service at 2800km on a bike thats scheduled for 12 months / 6000km normal use and sticking $60 worth of oil in it, only to change it 6 months later with only 1000km more on it, stupid rain

Ok thanks for the advice on that. I will change the oil every 3 months from now on. I hope if anything dose go wrong thou, it is in the next 4 years and 11months, it will still be under warranty.

I used to do my race and practice bike every 150km or 8 hrs, that was 2 changes a week when It was in the season with a full syn motorex and filters. it gets pretty exxy
