Don't need it for a 40mm lift, but, with it the steering will feel very solid and cornering will be improved too. Overall the Jim will drive much better.

When I got the OME 40mm kit, I thought I was going to die - the steering wobble was that bad. (about when I hit 70kmph). I had never experienced anything like it.
I then got a 3degree castor correction and then the Jimny felt perfect...at any speed.
So I'd say, only get the castor correction if you need it judging by other comments.

When I got my 40mm lift done I was told the same and it was only after getting an alignment check that it was noticed that the castor was out and I had fitted adjustable castors to bring it back to specs and now there is a big difference in the way it handles.
