I replaced both temperature senders/sensors as one had broken it's terminal.
Not only does it read temp better, and the engine runs better,
but air con now works again, and its extra cooling fan no longer stays on?
Must have a trigger for air con in cooling circuitry.?

I discovered problem during a coolant replacement,
It had an idle high/sporadic problem after the change,
that was fixed by bleeding air out of cooling system,
and replacing the senders.

You learn something new everyday.
My first lesson in EFI maybe

I think the Ecu trigger's the Ac fan, could tell you for sure but I lent my ecu pin out bible out..

I often fix things by pulling out, looking,
doing nothing, and putting back together,
with no idea what I am doing, or how I fixed it.
So could all just be a fluke,
but either way its a better car again.

do you have the part numbers for these? i want to replace my 2 but have a listing as one for a switch and one as a sensor.

It was Sunday, only open shop was Supercheap.
The book they had lists 2 temp senders,
and 1 coolant sensor (which I think is the big one with a plug on it.
TTS001 and TTS004 by tridon are the numbers.
black one went in front,
yellow went in rear, going on the way it was.

moved car to get in garage, a/c fan stuck on again.
So thats another issue to solve,
but least a/c will work now,
and idle is no longer erratic.

one of those two wires is the wire that is use for over temperature control, it stops the AC working & brings on the AC fan.

it uses one of those sensors, which goes open (high resistance) when the engine gets hot. Earth the wire and the system thinks its cool again, stops running the ac fan, and lets you use the Ac again.

Thats kind of what I was thinking.
I'll have another look tomorrow, terminal could be loose, or a wire busted.

Problem solved, don't use thread tape on parts that need to earth
I just put it back as I found it, obviously not always the best way.

Also one of new senders, altho correct on the packet,
had different number stamped in it.
Will go back and grizzle at them.

But the original air con sender works ok now its better earthed.

My sender failed again, and I got sick of it.
So I went one better,
I now have an earth switch in the cab,
so I can still run fan with the air con on,
but now have the option of running fan,
with out air con running,
for extra cooling if needed.
Sounded like a good idea, hope it is
