hey guys, before you jump down my throat i know this has been asked plenty of times
searching will help but im in a rush and need info before i continue on
im rebuilding a sierra hartop atm as some of you may know
my questions are.
i have ome rear medium springs all round(ruf)
its a bare chassis with the suspension and diffs in
im just wondering how many leafs to take out of the springs before i bolt the diffs down?
all springs have 5 springs each
the rear will be for toolbox or when i go camping
fatzook rear bar and sliders
8 point cage
on the front i will be having my arb winch bar, winch, dual batties
wll have g16a
so you see there will be a fair bit of wait in the zook when i finish
i dont want the springs to sage a few months down the track
is it best to leave five springs in, and wait till it finished to see the final weight
other question is all my you bolts fit accept one and thats the one that sits up on the pumpkin
i have wt diffs with nt spacing
if i take the fith spring out of the front springs then there will be enough thread to get the nut on
but then i could run into the problem of having not enough springs and saging
should i just get a custom one made up?
cheers

sort of a case of "suck it and see" mate
I pulled my load leaf out and in the rear's I'm only running 3 leaves on King's springs, it's something you will need to experiment with once the car is built and it has all the required weight on it.
Prob not the answer you were after, but it's the best way to do it.

flex is good but im more worried about saging springs from all the weight
i thought that was the case steve
i took the fifth leaf out on the front so i could get my ubolt on anyway.

We generally run three leaves on the passenger side and four leaves on the driver's side to get a level car.
I wouldn't be worried about sag - sagged springs=lower centre of gravity
We start with OME HD rear springs though to get the full length secondary leaf only the HD packs have. (I'm a bit behind the times on this though - I'm not sure how the Dakar packs are set up now.)
Steve.

Hope not anyway
The springs are set up with 3 leaf and two load springs
