Hi Guys,

I am a new Jimny owner, I started my mod purchases before i even bought hte car with a ProComp liuft kit lol

Any ways i noticed today the my steering knuckles are scored as in the pic.
Is this normal? is it some thing i shoudl be worried about? Could it be the cause of my jimny wobble? The scoring is where the wheels would be when in the straight position.
My car has a genuine 20thousand kays on it but is a 2003 model, so odd Things might show up some wear.

Is it scoring or pitting?

My guess is that it has sat in one place for quite some time and moisture has caused rust under the swivel seal.

It should be fine for now. If you notice that it starts to leak grease out, do a swivel hub seal kit and hit it with some fine emry paper while its appart. Otherwise, if it aint broke, don't fix it

I say its more of a score along what is visible. you can feel it fore sure, havent noticed any grease comming out of it but once its all out then i wouldnt see any right?

Rust/Wear form sitting makes sence with a 7 year car only havink 18tho when i bought it. Kays where dead set genuine one ower, sold and traded at a suzuki dealer.

IF you say this wouldnt have any thing to do with my jimny wobble i will leave it for now

I'd wager that there is almost zero chance that this would cause wobble.

From my understanding of the workings of the steering and suspension of a jimny, and the shear number of people who complain about the wobble, i'd say its caused by a combination of partially worn parts, chassis dynamics, suspension geometry and cycle paths, akerman angle, spring rates, shockie damp and rebound rates all working together in perfect harmony to creat an almost unsolvable condition known as 'jimny wobble'.

Many have tried. Varying degrees of success have been reported, but it doesn't seem as though any one thing wil fix it. Seems to be different solutions for everyone

sorry for the offtopic but where ddi u get the procomp lift.... I have heard about ti from ppl back home, they all use it for 3" lift.... but I cant find it either in Aus, or either a procomp website

Hahah I speak from experience too My 85 hightop was a wild ride on the gateway motorway

Mate i got my lift from jimyn bits in the uk. I got adjsutable panhard, brake relocator, super pro castor bushes, springs, shocks, extended braided lines all for much less than say a tought dog kit.
Including delivery i paid about $1200 AUS from memory.
They have excellent support too!

Id love to get another zook owener to driv emy car and tell me if they think the wobble can be improved on.

I can reduce the wobble to almost 0, but it will come back over time...

Ive got a damper on it now to make it livable for the time being, would you guy reccomend i do king pins and wheel bearings? Remember the cars only done 20tho but is 7 years old.

Ive checked all steering links and pan hards for play and all is rock solid.
Even adjusted the steering box to make sure no play, have wheels balanced twice as well.

Adjust drag on king pin's, only replace em if they are rusted or hammered from wobbling...
Also do a complete front end re tension...

mine has the same wear marks. i'm not worried... it's just the paint worn away in that spot correct?
should not contribute to steering wobble but may of been caused by it.
i guess if your steering straight and the wheels are wobbling ever so slightly it will rub the paint off leaving a shiny ring.

steering wobble on a car with so few k's i would start with the kin pin preload
