Have fancy parts washing thingo at work.
Have slimy, oily, dirtier than yo mumma power steering unit in shed.
If I put the former into the latter will I bugger up seals, internal important bits and things that are far too complex for me to understand or should I just chuck it in?

Depends on what kind of fluid is in the washer, Degreaser, Petrol, Kero etc... i used to like Kero to wash oily bits in... might be the safest option to use Kero...
If it's got the same stuff as in it the one we've got at school then you can put anything in it.
Our teacher went a bit mad when we got it and washed pretty much everything in the shop, didn't kill anything that we know of. He even pulled the wheels off his Dodge and put them in, complete with tyres.
