Yes, but the sohc 16v head is just as good, and easier to fit as either right angle distributor or coil pack is factory.

The sohc head flows more cfm (really) and they're everywhere.

Jimny.... And vitaras

And its not as simple as remove one head and bolt the other on... The 16v heads will need the 16v pistons.

All efi vitara, jimmy, 16v swift, baleno, what didn't they come in? Casting is the same across all models, some are fed distributor, (straight out) vitaras are right angle distributor, later baleno, jimny are coil pack, there are some swifts that are twin coil remote mounted (weird)

Bear in mind that if you put a 16v head on an 8v bottom end the engine becomes an interference motor because the reliefs in the pistons are in the wrong spot.

16v long motors are so cheap from wreckers IMHO it's easier to use a whole g16b 16v motor.

Still about $400 too much, but they are thin on the ground these days, so maybe you should consider it. I haven't been able to get a front cut for over 6 months now, and I have a standing order at the importers. 8O
