Just broke it What is it?

Just busted the top of this thing, mounts to from of engine, vacuum lines attached.

will it function without the top?

Its the vacune device that works your idle up. Id assume its on the side of your intake manifolf. And yes it will work fine with the top broken off for some time, All that has come off is the filter that reduces the amount of dirt that can flow back into the valve.

I've glued it with epoxy so it might last a bit longer
