on a different matter ...sitting in the back of a soft top zook with the roof off..apart from the back seats to me I think it is just as dangerous as sittin in the back of a open ute.. wouldnt be surprised 1 day if the legality of that come into question

Back seats and seat belts is a pretty big difference to a bare back of a ute!

It does feel mighty unsafe though, but I get the feeling that's because you're over and almost behind the rear axle!

hahaha yeah theres not many things more terrifying that sitting in the back of a sierra with no soft top on... theres nothing to grab onto around corners so you rely on the little lap belt being done up tight =) haha

What about a 1942 Jeep with no doors and no seatbelts? You try not to even think about an accident. Or the bad weather.

A friend of mine has a 202 powered S2 SWB Land Rover Paddock basher.

We (he, the fuckwit) got it off the end of the speedo (80MPH?) on a shitty winding gravel road with no seats (you sit on the metal the seats mount on), no doors, no brakes and no seat belts. Being a Landy it has half a turn of play in the steering too.

I don't know how I survived that.
