has anyone on here turboed a 1.3 engine?

if so what size turbo did you use

I just close my bonnet. That tends to keep birds out most of the time :wink:

i don't worry about any sort of filter, what ever gets sucked in gives the bores a good hone, it's just like rebuilding your engine every time you drive.

i was considering it but it now seems easier to just transplant the ma18.

How much better would you say the 1.8 is?

That "turbo" looks more like a babyl water pump to me :-)

For the $$$ m18a would piss all over a turbo :wink: i looked into a turbo setup and once i added the cost up is was cheaper to put a m18a in for the same power :wink:

the bonus with going the M18a route is you're running a standard motor & get that factory reliability unlike a stressed M13a under boost.

Yeah M18a really is what the Jimny should have had all along.

I would hate to see my Jimny towing my camper with the M13a. I can pull it along at 110 up and down any hill I need to without the frustration of gear changes!

I think the motor was $2,250 with 35,000kms on the clock, but I sold my M13a for $750 and spent around $1,500 for the install and oils etc...
