Hey guys im looking at giving my stock 88 WT sierra a 2'' suspension lift and possibly body lift (only if tire clearance becomes an issue) for under $1000
I had a look at the tech thread with the 2'' ome lift using commodore shocks and hiace shocks, which is the direction i was looking at going, but which year commodore and hiace shocks are the shocks to use?
Ive been to ARB today and was qouted $1100 for the 40mm OME lift, for the full kit including bushes, ubolts, OME shocks etc..... but really its not 2 inch its only 1.5", i want 2" at least!!!
So just wondering what other options are available for a cheap lift?
and what opinions to people have on getting leafs reset?

That tech thread should have the part numbers for the Gabriel shocks that you need to get. Dont worry about the years just take those numbers into Supercheap and give them the part numbers.
I wouldnt get the stock springs reset 2 inches higher it would make for a fairly short spring giving a pretty harsh ride I imagine.

Along with the 2" OME suspension lift and gabriel shocks.....2" body lift is pretty cheap which you can buy brand new from this site

The 40mm ome springs is enough I reckon. I run them plus a 2inch body lift and it's bloody high

cheers guys, went and got a qoute from an industrial spring making company to get some 2'' springs made and they were over $600 for the springs alone so i think im gonna have to go with the OME/gabriel shocks option, then most likely body lift

then you wouldnt need body lift at all.
i run 30's and theres shit loads of room
i would just get a 40mm lift, gabriel shockies and bumper stop extensions to minimize scrubbing, or just cut/ hammer your guards IMO.

You just need a hammer and some bump stops.
I had 25mm bumpstop extensions on 31s, cristovers old OME springs front and rear for a while, then I put my OEM rears in the front.

ordered it all today..
OME front springs $81 each
OME rear $111 each
front gabriel shocks $50 each
rear gabriel shocks $45 each
OME bushes $120
ubolts from ARB $75
total $769
for some reason i got all shocks for $45 each + they had a deal buy 3 get 1 free, so i got it for $716
the only thing i didnt think about was the steering damper.. how much difference will a new one make? worth getting one?

Dont worry about it straight away. You dont need them. They're just nice to have sometimes.
