so ive bought a fuel cell for my sierra and am going to put it in the back just wondering what fuel pump to use its got a g16b baleno engine in it i was thinking a bosch 044 but there prety pricey ??

What made you choose the remote fuel cell over using an OEM tank from a different vehicle?
If the fuel tank doesn't use an internal pump (in which case I'd use a wahlbro), You're probably best to fit a lift pump, surge tank and pressure pump to limit the chances of fuel starvation.
"Clacker" style lift pumps like the Facet brand can be found cheapily on ebay.
Likewise, universal fit surge tanks.

The 044 is a great pump (but beware of chinese copies). However it is draws high current, is noisy and designed for performance engines (4.1L/minute or 700hp?), well beyond what most sierras will need. Although I use one of these myself, a cheap VL commodore pump or similar would be more than suitable for most.

I ran the the 040 in my RB20 skyline...I know guys running 250kw at the wheels with a 040....not sure if the 044 was the internal model and the 040 was external? Make sure you mount it with rubber between the pump and mount.

I run an 044 lift into 2.5 litre surge and two 040 externals in my rx7. In saying that I had a VL turbo pre pump and it was able to keep up with about 300hp. When we pushed the boost up and got 600hp at the wheels it ran out of go.

For a sierra a vl turbo pump would be the go.

The generic external Bosch pump (or copy) is fairly common and popular. There's no way you'd top that out in terms of capacity.

I'm setting up a fuel system at the moment, changing from a single 040 to duals, but one is feeding the surge tank and the other the fuel rail. Out bush if you kill a fuel pump you'll still be able to rig up on to get you home.

Similar question. Previous owner of my G13BA Sierra removed the mechanical pump and replaced it with a cheap, noisy electric pump which is now dead.

Go back to a stock pump, or replace the electric one with a half-decent new one (which one)?

SOrry for the grave dig, just wanted to say this ebay pump only lasted me ~18 months. I couldnt find a decent price one before, but mechanic source a denso for $90...much better option!
