My suzuki sierra is a 89 model and i am looking to buy new tyres all terrians. What size tyres would be the best option if i wanted to keep my rims. I have a 2 inch lift?

235/75r15 is the biggest you can go on stock rims, even then some tyre places won't do it. You'll want a 2" lift to clear them as well.

no lift at all, throw on 215/75r15 BFG KM2 or Kumho KL71.

edit: just saw the lift part... the 235s will still scrub, but not too bad, you will still need to do some clearancing. if you do fit 235s, you'll want to look at some form of reduction gearing as well.

That depends what terrain you drive.

I would also suggest that with anything bigger than 215/75/15 you would need to address the gearing issues otherwise it will be a bastard to drive.

if you're keeping stock rims its safe to assume you dont want to spend $$$ on new ones, which assumes you wouldnt want to spend money on gearing which really just leaves 215/75r15 =)

because of the smaller sizing even an aggressive muddy like a KM2 or KL71 is quite a closed in tread pattern, so will work very well on sand while still being aggressive enough to pull you through some mud.

my uncle has 215/75 KM2's on his jimny and they made a huge difference to his offroad capabilities through the sheer grip they offered compared with stock HT tyres.

If you are just starting out 4wheelin in a Zook, i would go with 215/75/15's, and learn how the Zook handles and performs on them first, then when you get more experience, and more money, get bigger tyres... the 215's should be fairly cheap in a AT, and a bit more for MT's, and you wont attract unwanted attention from the Police...

I have a set of 215/75/15 BFG Muddies. Bloody awsome tire to drive around with every day and damn impressive off road.
The front are the KM's and have just on 60,000k on them and are bearly worn. The rears are KM1's and they have 90,000k's on them and are about 1/2 worn.
I've done almost every bit of terrain with mine from soft as shit sand down geltwood beach to southend in S/A to long muddy shit out the back of my
place in gembrrok and nerriem and found them holding there own really well.
Also Ive been doing around 150k a day on them freeway driving and city driving an they have real good manners on the road.
The KM2's were only about $250 a tire when i bought them, i think they have gone up in price but the only problem you would have atm is avalibility. There is a damn long wait to get the buggers from the US atm, unless things have changed in the last month, but when I checked there was about a 3 month wait to get stock from the US.

Mate, FYI I rang up when at work today and got a price on 215/75/15 KM2s. They have them in stock and the price is $250 plus gst and what ever your local tire place will change for fitting and balancing. Just thought I'd let you know they are in stock and the pricing so if someone tells you $350 a tire fitted and balanced, you can tell them they are ripping you off

my 1989 seirra with 235 75 bighorns just 50mm susp and outriggers chopped..stock gears, you just drive it a bit harder not really a problem

That might be more expensive then treps, but would treps do 90,000k's and still only be half worn ?
AND seeing my lwb zook is a daily, doing a crapload of k's, why would I risking making it more suspisious then it already it?

Personally, I think $250 a tire is a not bad price for a tire that you would get over 5 years of driving out of doing 30,000k's a year. If you don't do 30,000k's a year, jesus, your zook will probably rust away before they wear out

As a daily driver tire, with the off road awsomeness, personally I love these tires
