Heyy, does anyone know how much is needed to grind off the block of a G16B to fit a 1.3 starter? Cause I have a 1.6 starter too but its identicle tp the 1.3...

im doing a 1.6 conversion on my sierra

other way around - you grind the starter to fit the block.

i spoke to the guy at the suzi store about it when i was gona buy a zook with a 1.6 in it and aparently its not recomended to do this. coz although they look the same. they over ingage or something and thats why people burn threw them all the time
the guys name was brian and he was more than happy to help me over the phone. as u can probably tell idk much about them but it might be worth looking at
btw suzistore build a special starter motor for that conversion
its like 300 bucks with a waranty!

But yep you gotta grind a fair bit off. Who cares if its not recommened, if youve got a 1.3 starter already, grind it and fit it. You can replace it IF it stuffs up

or buy the reduction starter =)

Or get i turned down on a lathe, then smooth off the alloy housing section

Grinder is my new favourite tool. I didn't know that my $30 grinder with 3x $2.64 100mm cutting disks would cut through about 1m of high tensile 5mm steel until last weekend. Now I know I can change metal I'm on a high! just have to figure out how to weld next...
