hey quick question and yeah i searched first.

is 1 1/4 tube to small to build an internal cage out of?

i dont plan on doing anything stupid to use it but will be mounting uhf & rear speakers on.

the pipe bender i borrowed of bogga only goes to 1 1/4 thats why i would like to use this size.

Yes. Too small. MOst commonly used is 1.75" or 32NB. CAMS, ANDRA, CCDA etc allow a few different sized tubes to be used, but it would be a very minimal part of the cage that is allowed to use 1.25" tube. All main sections of the cage will be 1.75" or larger.

Having said that, I have seen a few cages with 32NB B-pillar and rear section, and 25NB (1.25") front section to aid with clearance around the dash etc.

Buy a good 1 3/4 die for it and make it all out of that if you only want to use one size. Better off with overkill than under when it comes to safety

So if I use the 1 1/4 beside dash then notch it at top and use 1 3/4 for the rest.

Personally I'd use 1 3/4 for all of it and bigger for the main hoop but if you have to choose just one for everything in the bigger sizes go 1 3/4. It fits down between the dash and the door, just dints the door a little bit and it is tight to close the first few times. You get use to it quick.

Are you sure its a 1.25" tube die or an 1.25" pipe die?

if its a pipe die the OD of the stuff is really 42.4mm

Are you suggesting he has a 32NB die? I wasn't aware that the DIES were sized by internal bore ( as pipe is)

Just checked bendsr its a plumbers mate bender for bending gas steam and plumbing pipes. And the only number on it are 1/2 up to 1 1/4 I think bit dark out there

For bending water pipe then. Can you measure across the opening of the die and get a rough size?

inside lip to inside lip is bout 42mm on the biggest one. Still dont know what this all means im going to use 1 3/4 tube for the cage.

It is as Royce said then. Thats roughly 1.75" OD. So use that die. But you will need to buy pipe, not tube!

Dies are marked to suit the material, so a die for 1 1/4" / 32nb pipe will say that rather than 42.4mm OD which will confuse all the meathead waterpipe fitters around

Worldo like Fatty said, make sure you have pipe not tube as the fit in the die is critical, might I suggest you go to a Metaland and ask for OZTUBE (confusing I know) Circular Hollow Section in 32nb Medium wall. This will get you an Australian product designed for structural applications and not too dear
