since everyone else seems to be avoiding chucking some numbers out there, -13 or probably -24 are pretty popular, more offset = wider track, which makes it more stable and more wheel travel

i would avoid a massive offset rim due the change in scrub radius & the extra offset will want to eat guards more.

Ok so had a look at some other threads on the subject of offset and I've got some numbers in my head now so I should be able to get it.

Atari that is a sick looking Zook that you've chucked together. Very nice indeed.

So should I maybe aim for -13 offset just to avoid eating the guards up? Sounds like -24 would be huge offset but eh, The wider the better I spose.

I have a friend who's a Boiler maker by trade and He'[s willing to help me out with my zook. He has a sierra that looks more like a monster truck.

What exactly go's into cutting the guards? Do you put tape over the panel, Grind until you have the clearance and then whack on a coat of rustproof paint? I'm only guessing by the way.

neg 13's 15x7's will only need a minimal trim of the back of the front guard, if any.

i'll say it again don't go a too larger offset rim as it will cause more clearance issues, sure it looks cool but visualise the arc that the rim & tyre swing in when turning & also while it's cycling through it's suspension travel & you'll get what I mean.

Nice and cheap as well. Will definately get one of these body lifts. Well guys I'll get some picks up in a month or so of how the buildup is going. Reckon I've got all the info I need now to get a rig thats gonna get me to the places I want to go. There is some good 4wding to be had out near hidden valley and also out down Howard springs way. If u head down the main roa to Howard springs and stay on it past bronswing av, over the bridge until it turns to dirt. Then it's then next left dirt road... Have a look on google earth!!! It's especially good out there offer the first few rains of the wet... To much rain though and forget out there as all the billabongs fill and the place becomes a flood plain!!! Oh and there is some good night time beach driving to be had at low tide out at buff creek... Illegal though, but still good fun... Ahhhhh I miss Darwin!!! Can u send me down a luksa from the parap markets plz!!!!

Sounds like the beach driving would be good fun lol. Wouldn't want to get stuck out there though with how high the tides come up in Darwin lol. A captian always go's down with his ship lol. Will have to find those tracks out hidden valley. Been to gun point and around those tracks you mentioned. there great fun especially gettin the girlfriend covered in mud sittin in the passenger seat Yeah Darwin rocks. Outdoors paradise. take out the crocs and a few less sharks so I can go spear fishing again and I would be in heaven lol. I'll get one of those Laksa's in the mail for you lol.

I have a 2" body lift, and the Calmini 3" kit. I'm running -13 offset 15x7 wheels, with 31x10.5" Simex Centipedes and it never rubs

Thats awesome. Thas the set up that I want to run. I'm gonna have to buy extended brake lines as well wont I? To get that lift on you car with the suspension and the Body lift, what other bits and pieces will I have to buy? Me and a mate are gonna try and fit it in in one day over the weekend. Cant have my car off the road pretty much at all cause I need to still get to work.

My mate has some 31' at's that were gonna chuck on to test. I think he's gonna try and get me to go bigger in the tyres lol. He likes huge tyres but judging by his zook I can understand. I'll see if I can post a photo of his rig. He's got 35' muddy's on his sierra and has room for 37's!!!

Mine always kicks out even over a pothole, and i hate that fact about the car. Fitting new tyres helped a great deal, and suspension that dosnt "jump" like the stock would probs help.

For a 2" body lift your going to have to extend your gearstick and transfer case stick around 2" and bend them forwards slightly at the weld. You will also have to adjust your fuel filler hose a little.

As for the Calmini 3" suspension lift, it will come with everything neccessary to lift the car so everything reaches properly.
