any reason why a bias ply?

Will be used in comps, stronger, more conforming. And won't be daily driven on, so may aswell get something decent for their purpose.

How much does streering improve from the ET style tyres you have to your other ones?

if the comps arent going to be in deep slop. look at what the rock crawling boys use.

treps, creepies, krawlers, iroks

then find some thing close to that that you can use

My MTR's are miles ahead of the Simex copies in the way of steering, but off road the copies smash them. The problem is with the size & depth of the tread moving around under cornering loads.

I have only read this page and the first 3 posts in this thread but these tyres are popular cause they are a completely different (softer and grippier) rubber compound, I have not heard a single person say they run them due to its carcass construction, indeed this site may be the only place in the entire world I have ever heard so much talk of carcass construction

In all seriousness, the brand or type of tyre isn't going to make that much of a difference to your cars capability. Smart skilled driving will get you further

The idea of this thread was to find the closest thing to a Trep in a 33" size. A bighorn is hardly a Trep.

I'm over this thread anyway. Probably because I'm just a poser and most likely just a web wheeler anyway. ;)

And you wont as I doubt anybody makes a 33" tyre with the same rubber compound as a sticky trep (its the sticky does the work not the tread pattern or cool name)

Yeah thats why im looking more toward bias as there are more with the sticky compound than radial. and they come with other benefits.

I did see them and they seem impressive from the reviews. Just have to match pricing to local types of tyres.

EDIT: Not bad from here. These may be the go if i dont see too many negative reviews(none so far)

If you are specifically looking for competition tyres then TSL Swampers come in a sticky and narrow 34".

I think they are a 34x9.5 - maybe that helps...

I wanted them too.

I spoke to the Maxis AU wholesaler (AKA the brotherhood) a while ago about them, apparently they don't make them anymore, that's why nobody has stock.

What a load of dribble shit. Did you reach around and pull that crap from your boyfriends arse as you were sucking his cock or what. Or did he just felch it into your mouth.

Bias ply tyres are completly different construction than radials. They can have the same compounds as a radial.

Most bias ply are designed as a drive tyre. So they would use an ANTI-CHIP tread compound which isnt good for mileage. No anti chip gives great mileage but doesnt last long off road. Remember early coopers with all the pieces falling of them???

The reason why bias ply dont last as long is the in the design of the actual tyre. The behave in a different way to radial ply tyres. Stop dribbling utter bullshit on the interwebs and start research some stuff from people who driven on them, worked with tyres and actually undertsand them.

FARK FARK FARK morning rant over......

PS KM2 are a horny looking tyre, so are crawlers and TSl boggers but they are not all suited for what you drive or need. Get the tyre that best suits your needs not what makes you boyfrind get a little chubby every time he sits in your car....

Rephrase: "I've seen more sticky bias"

I don't know where the whole poser thing came from because i don';t like the look of a km2. Not, "i dont like the look of a km2 on my car it looks gay".
I am going for a tyre that suits my needs. Hence not getting a simex.
Try helping more than you insult.

Unfortunately there are no stickies under 37" I think there is one sticky swamper-it's 43".

I'd run 35" stickies in a heartbeat.

Sticky swampers, maxxis, are bias, sticky BFG are radial.

34x9 swampers bring the awesome but certainly aren't sticky.

There is probably more talk about carcass construction on this board compared to any others because this is a suzuki board. Radials suck on Suzuki's because it's so hard to make the tread flex. The bigger the tyre, the bigger the problem this is.

What is the overall diameter of the 34 swamper?

i rate my swampers highly dan its a size issue for me. i want to go 34's, they have only let me down twice and that is (imo) due to driver and lockers or lack there off.

my choce from 34 swamper/33.5 creepie will come down to price and availability when i want them (6ish months)

33.something- check the interco site.

I still rate them very highly until you run out of diff clearance. Because they are narrow, they sit right at the bottom of the rut.
