In the process of taking out my transfer case (never done before). How do you get the small metal clamp off at the bottom of the lever? Does it split with a screwdriver?

Are you talking about the hose clamp thingy that holds the rubber boot on? if so, there is a little tab folded over that holds it tight. Find the tab and open it up with a screwdriver. (It's kind of a like a compressed Z shape and unfolds)
Steve.

I always left my stick on, when dropping t-case. It was easier to get at stick on the floor.
But make sure you push and twist on the bottom piece, not the stick itself

See the bit in pic, will give you an idea how it comes out.
Same as the bit on a single stick, but didn't couldn't find a picture

Hey my transfer lever is stuck in neutral. Trying to get that spring loaded thing off. I push down, turn anti clockwise. Should pop up all the way and stick should just pull out or what do I do. Been at it for last 30mins trying to twist it and get the thing off but nothing so far. Also it's really hard to twist that spring loaded thing.

Just make sure you are pushing down hard enough.
Also when taking the case out I find it easier to leave the stick in and put it into 4x4 low.

That was for the other guy.
Use a couple of flat head screwdrivers.

The problem is that it's like jammed between two gears and I need to try and line up the two gaps inside the transfer case so I get get the lever in there. If you kind of get what I mean:/
