Driving an unregistered car is a bigger issue than copping a defect notice whether it's on a track or in the bush.

So unless your "play" is 100% on private property, it makes sense to have a car you can RWC, and if you can RWC it, you can drive it anywhere you like.

Interesting point there Steve but in NSW it does not cut it just to be on private property. For the last few years the cops have been coming onto the Opal fields and booking unregistered cars and also booking for things like no seat belts Etc.

These fields are on private Grazing land and there were no roads until the miners themselves built them - we also own a grader to maintain them and pay a road fee with each claim to pay for it all.

We hired a QC to look into it all to stop the cops but (In NSW at least) there is a law which states a vehicle must be registered when on a road OR "road related area" and a "road related area" is defined as "Any place that a vehicle does or CAN go" which means anywhere.

Result - We all must have registered road worthy vehicles or cop the results and pay up.

Yeah I understand that.

I meant I'll do something funky with the Vit and make it a comp car, or use it only on private land (you just gave me an idea, I do have a few mates with a bit of land ).

But I'll worry about that if stupid laws ever come in. The car can be returned to standard if need be, but it'd be a shit load of effort through.

i just got my car through a rwc easily and it had a 2inch body and 2 inch spring lift i had to put smaller tyres and mud flaps on but went through quite easy he didnt seem to care about the lift and small tyres got the mod plate for my 1.6 conversion and off i went
