Hi guys,

What are your Vitara front and rear Calmini coil lengths when the car is on level ground and unloaded?

Fronts 275mm

Rears 345mm

Give or take 5mm obvoiously.

Why do you ask?

I can't actually help - I have some calmini coils here but not on a car, but surely you are going to get as many different answers as there are kits installed - there's so many different combinations of vehicle weight and use.

Is the car starting to settle? If so, that's a trait of Calmini kits because the springs bind on full compression. It was beyond calmini to design bumpstop extensions to prevent the springs binding.

The cat isn't settling. On flat ground it sits level, but when the rear of the car is on slight downhills it seems to sag a little. Also if weight is placed in rear it sags a lot more.

I spoke to Low Range Offroad about it and he asked me to measure my rear coils for him. He says 345mm is high not low for rear coils.

So just comparing mine to others basically

You don't have a (heavy) bar and winch, and you are a hardtop. End result is the front of your car is lighter and the rear heavier than calmini predominantly designed the springs for. I'd say what you are experiencing is normal.

I don't think the kit was ever intended for heavy load carrying either.

It's annoying, to say the least.

I installed an ARB Winch bar, along with a Tabor 9000lbs winch, a snorkel and a dual battery system in the front about a month ago and the front has settled a little with the weight, on flat groud the front used to always sit higher.

I found with mine that they were too soft in the rear for a LWB.
As soon as i had camping gear or people in the back it would bottom out.
Front was fine with bullbar, winch, and second battery up front.

I have the same problem with my LWB, as soon as there's any load at all in the rear, it bottoms out pretty easy.

Chop, Which springs did you use to replace your Calmini's in the rear?

mate ill trade coils with you. My car seems to sit like a drag car. With only an arb on the front. i can push the front up and down with two hands.

I want a winch but think its going to way to heavy for the front
