I am trying to find out if there is a law/rule about the type of bends used in an exo/roll cage?
Can they be a standard type rolled bend or do they have to be a mandrel bend also what size pipe and wall thickness.
I tried to find something on the CAMS website.

I'm pretty sure that no Exo cage is CAMS compliant. Must be internal AFAIK.

Any die and former bender with intermediate radius tooling will pass CAMS etc regs.

Wall thickness depends on the diameter and type of material being used.

mine is all 32NB medium black pipe

Do I have to mandrel bend or can I just do normal type bends?

Any bend is fine as long as it's not weld in bends.

you're not allowed to dimple either, nothing that reduces the tube's OD by more than a 1/5

the trade tools benders work fine for the $$

And this is very hard to achieve with a cheap PIPE bender from trade tools or super rip.

Apparently there's a shop down here that just does pipe and bends, tuffcoily was telling me about it today.

Also, he said he's got an exo he's looking to sell, might be what you're looking for already made.

Oh and if you're trying to keep the rig road legal there's some info on here somewhere and on the transport websites about what you can and can't do.

Ive made this "roof-rack" with 38.1mm DOM, 25mm x5mm black tube around the bonnet, and 40mm black tube Stinger bar
