G'day guys, I am trying to find some good mud tyres but for a BFG KM2 in the 235/75/R15 is $315 from bobjane!

Was thinking somthing with a more aggressive offroad tread than a Maxxis Bighorn as I have a set of road tyres and rims

What would you get?

I know it all depends on what you drive.. but just wondering what you would buy/ have got?

How much did you get your muddies for?

any tyre better than a bighorn is going to be a serious compramise
on the road.

I have just got some fedrals for my zook they were $190 per tyre for 30s from sydney only had the out a couple of times but so far very happy

Get the maxxis trepadoors great tyre better then a bighorn 265 for 30s brand new pretty sure they make one size smaller I run the maxxis and love them but it all cones down to what you want

I have the deferrals on my car in 235 75 15 they are pretty good 170 a pop cant go wrong sorry about bad spelling on my phone

The BFG's are US$154 each from tirerack.com in a 235. You'd need to factor in about $300 shipping, but that'd still land you a set of 4 for less than $250 a corner.

My 215's came from there while the exchange rate was slightly better - $1025 for 5.

I have Federal Couragia's in 30's on my 90' sierra. they are the best bang for buck mud tyre anywhere! My mate also has them on his overweight patrol and they are unstoppable. max $200 a tyre.

I bought Kelly safari tsr's $1140 for 5 in 235/75R15 Quiet on road and go great on everything i've tried (Mud rocks sand gravel etc) very similar to the goodyear wrangler duratrack's.

The reason why I ask is because I had Sliverstone Sport 117's on my old 4runner and loved them!

yeah they are good but noisy and terrible on road
jungle trekkers and boggers are better but still terrible onroad

silverstone 117's are only really good in mud bighorns are shit all round i dont know why anyone would ever get them

for all the wheeling around here treps are the best but they wont be as good in mud cause they wont clear themselfs as good
treps has a really good compound that grips well and they bolge quite nicely

for me to want a set they must be pritty good

big horns and baja claws are both for tours and beach cars and thats about all in my opinion they arnt good 4wd tyres at all they are too hard and dont grip real well compared to what else is on the market i had bighorns on the cruiser and i folgged them off within 3 weeks after getting the shits with them and got a set of federals and they were about 10 times better but still not a good 4wd tyre

My mate killed 4 claws with in 1 month from touring around and 4wding up north in W.A. cooper st's are touring tyre's not claw's !

i have baja claws on my car they were on it when i got it they are a hard as shit i cant get them to wear down if i tried and they dont grip and big horns are the same compounds and if you want to do harder the gravel roads or kirbs they arnt worth spending the money on i can get treps a shitload cheaper and they are a better tyre

they arnt the best for touring but if you went to any tyre shop around here thats all they offer but what im basically saysing they are both shit house and are only a looks tyre and it youu wanted to do a little bit of wheeling here and there not harder stuff
