Hey all,

I bought a 1l lwb at the start of the year and it's been sitting there undriven since march. I was gonna go down the 1.6 efi, locked wt's etc route but the more I think about it, the less appealing that sounds.

Anyway, long story short, the last few times I took it out for a strap I found myself having more fun driving quickly through bush tracks with the ass out on every corner so I'm thinking that this should be the direction to head in.

So.... my idea is to have a turbo 4 pot rwd ute with an ifs front end (oooo comfort!!!)

I figure that as long as it's got good clearance, decent rubber and a locked rear it should still be more than capable of getting around.

Losing 4wd should make the whole process a hell of a lot easier and I think I've got most of it worked out but I'm scratching my head about the front end. Any suggestions??

I should mention that this is only an idea at this stage and it's more than likely that it won't get off the ground but since ditching the missus earlier this year I've got a fair bit more cash to play with and I'm thinking "why the hell not?".

If seen pics of a Sierra with a vitara ifs the used it for rally and apparently it worked well.

Another option that should be pretty easy is to reverse the shackles at. The front. As long as you get the geometary right it should be much better for speed with alot less effort than ifs.

Whatever you do don't loose the 4wd.
If you want rwd get a datto or something newer but similar.

would look better if they did it at the second (lower) body line and graphed the targa bar of a SWB onto it behind the drivers seat and ended the cab there.
