Are there 'off the shelf' extractors to suit G16B conversion into a Sierra or would these need to be custom made?

The ones i have on my G16b are 'Wildcat' for g13bb jimny's. partno is.711

I had to hammer around the gbox/engine bolt on the side a fair bit as g13 blocks are thinner. Clears everywhere else fine, and sits nice up in chassis

Ive had wildcat vit extractors also, they were all over the engine mount, had to cut and remake cyl 2 and 3 pipes! Pain in the arse.

Some people also have G13a/G16a extractors, But cut off the a head flange and weld on the b flange to suit the head ports. An Oxygen sensor will need to be cut/welded/tapped in also.

More people will pipe up with more exhausting info.

Just call or message (though ebay) Rod from MPH and tell him exactly what you want and he makes them, I think they are an extra $20-30 for custom, basically you tell him you need a G16B plate with sierra headers and an O2 mount, he will tell you how fast and how much.

Almost the same subject are the headers the for a carby 1.6 and 1.3 or different?? Cheers

They will be the same where they fit onto the head but will be different to allow for different chassis widths.

And height. The G16 block is about 20mm taller than a G13 due to the longer stroke.

Instead of starting a new thread i thought id post a question here (sorry for the hijack)

Im doing a GTi conversion and had the G16 Wildcat extractors on the original donk (thinking i could just cut the flange off and weld the GTi one on) but after all was done i found that the headers fouled on the engine mount
Apparently the 1.3L extractors have a different 'design' so now i've got a set of Wildcat G16 extractors with the GTi flange welded to it that's absolutelly useless to me

Anyway.....i need to buy a set of 1.3L extractors because the exhaust shop wants to charge $200 per header bend...thats $800 just for the headers and then another $500 odd for the remainder of the system (cost more than the sierra itself lmao)

Im wondering if any sponsors from this site sell or know where i can get extractors for the 1.3L?!

how much do they foul the engine mount??? you can put a small dent in them to make them fit =)

I think Rod (as above) quoted me about $220 to make a set for a gti in a sierra..

TuffCoily had a set he was selling in the for sale section for like $180 or something brand new man, have a look there.

It's just not worth to modify them as most exhaust shops charge $200 per header and i can get the whole exhaust for $180

I bought a set of extractors from rod, they're probably the only product that I have been displeased with, it looked like he banged them out in about 5 minutes. Fugly welds and big grind marks on the pipes, the 'heatproof' paint was applied straight over rusty pipes as well and rust is coming through the paint... This was just my experience, I know plenty of people on here have used his headers and were happy with them, so maybe he was rushed or something, but still when you pay for a product you expect the quality to be consistent regardless.

If I could do it again I would make my own pipes, but if you don't have the tools it's a pretty cheap alternative. Just be aware that the pipes are bent using a normal tube bender so the pipe deforms around the bend rather than keeping a constant diameter. You might care about this, you might not. Just my $0.02, take it with a grain of salt.

I guess time will tell how good they are when i get them but for $260 delivered i don't think you will get them cheaper anywhere else

Other exhausts shops wanted $350 for just the extractors without the flange so im not going to complain too much especially since some muppet wanted to make me the extractors for $200 per bend...thats $800 for just the headers!!!!!

Got the extractors a couple of weeks ago...fitter perfectly...bolts up perfectly......packaged well and the welding is OK.....can't complain at all for $260
