[b]fixed bought a webber
need some help to figure out why it doesnt like running with the carbi hat on?
driving the zook(suzuki sierra 85'1.3L) around town is fine but when you drop down a gear or two to go up a hill, it doesnt like to rev past 3500. have found out that when taking off the carbi hat it loves to rev past 5000 when driving.
things i thought it was:- not getting enough air, so i put a snorkel on for cold air induction, a k&n air filter, new top gun leads.
these are the things i did today; replaced the rubber tube for a steel pipe, so theres no way it could be collapsing now. also cleaned and re-oiled the filter just to make sure but the problem is still there.
so does anyone have any more ideas? got 3 more days to fix it or i have to pull out of the non members run on NBS.

see how I said collapsing, you said collapsed
how can you be sure at 3500 rpm its not sucking in?
process of elimination
run with hat only, remove the tube
refit the tube, remove the top of the airbox
refit the airbox top, remove the air filter
refit the airfilter, remove everything upstream of the intake to teh box (making sure the intake is clear, no rags or leaves in there)
its not rocket science really, something is blocked

so hang on we talk about maybe over oiling the filter, then we dont have oil to put on it
if ANYBODY can get too much oil onto a K&N in a sierra that it consistently runs shit i'd like to see the V16 hooked up to it!
if it was that oiled it was restricted (bullshit) it would suck the oil off, ingest it, spit it out the back and continue to do so till it wasnt a restriction, which it never will be cause its oil, not some wonder blocking film
You know back in the day intake air was filtered by passing through a bath of oil dont you? much like a bong, something in that for all of us I think

if you are reffering back to this post i mean the oil filter lol. i thought because a standard air filter has no oil on it, it would be fine to run like that for a couple of days. so what your saying is the air filter needs oil on it to run properly. i will go borrow my brothers kit and check tht out tomorrow as well.
