Has anyone got an image of factory original door trims for Sierra? Looking to make some both original and with custom design to offer for sale.

Even if you made up door cards with the carbon look fabrics. They would sell.

Id be umming and arring then, whether to get them or coily full plastic ones..

the pattern on the stock ones is nice, just the vinyl used thats dated... mines not too bad cos its not some crazy rainbow or tan colour though.

if you're planning on making some, maybe do the vinyl trim over some acetate/pvc rather than wood which swells and rots etc? just a thought =)

aluminium as the backing instead of Masonite or whatever. then cover than in foam and whatever material. shouldn't be hot at all

I use the carbon fibre a fair bit on my custom bike seats. I was putting together some designs in my head so I'm glad you mentioned it - could be on the right track.

I hadn't thought of using plastic - cost will be a factor but it shouldn't increase the cost of a card too much. I forgot some of these things are on submarine duty

What about that aluminium-plastic-aluminium stuff that sign places use?
Would be a bit quieter than just straight aluminium.

actually now you mention it, smooth corflute would work! its bloody cheap too...



it does tend to kink though, cos of the hollow bits - singwriters use a pvc stuff as well which can be had in 3mm thick and would be ideal, its UV rated and also not that expensive.

We used this on my zook a year or so ago. Best thing about it is you can clean it really easy! Just go and ask the local estate agents they get rid of them often.

I've costed up some 3mm High Density Polyethyline from the place I got the strips for the soft tops. A finished door trim board should retail for around $20. This stuff is as tough as nails, easy to drill and cut and waterproof and will last forever. I'll get a sheet in and cut up some boards. Thanks for all the links to pics. There's no reason why I can't combine the original design with carbon fibre instead of the poxy patterned vinyl. Stay posted, and thanks again everyone for your help and ideas. Keep them coming

I think even just a plain flat covered door card in carbon look will be better than any original suzuki interior panel

The one on the red door is from my 89 SJ50. The other door card is from the same vintage vehicle but with the brown interior.

That door card on it's own i'm not using. You can have it if it's any use to you.

Thanks Damo, that's exactly what I'm after, and I'll take you up on your offer. Can you PM me to let me know where to pick it up from?

I'm thinking of putting Carbon Fibre vinyl where the coloured bit is, and keeping all the welded lines as per the original.
