most places do charge you for a full fill when fitting, as it's the only real way to test the guage & make sure it doesn't leak.

How's the progress on this tank going? I'm doing the same. Well planning it. I phoned QLD transport. They gave me a few phone numbers to get it all done legal and one of the guys I called recommended the fuel share method with the common hose. Means one gauge, one filler, one sender (all existing) The tank just needs to be at the same or similar level to the original one and a decent diameter hose like mentioned. I'm thinking same diameter as the filler hose. I got a tank price of around $500 for 3mm aluminium. But I'm thinking just mild steel will do and that's what the mod plate guy said too. Original tanks are made of steel so why not. Trying to keep the cost down. 40l tank will need two baffles. See how we go ey.

There's a few regulations if you wanna get an LN1 mod plate for it. None of the hoses can be any less than 2 inches from the exhaust. The tank needs to be able to withstand 3 G's of impact. So needs to be secured pretty tight. Like I said, 40 L tank would need two baffles inside.

Where are you going to put this 'Aux tank' exactly?

Gotta take some measurements and get the exact dimensions. Gonna try and get it up in front of the rear bumper where the muffler is.
