Paul. Thanks for that info. I'll pull the plugs and clean up and check the gaps before I try anything else. Perhaps I have caked an exhaust sensor in oil

It's interesting that you ask questions about a strange running engine, dont really give any back story to its cause, dont understand what most of the things to look at to try and remedy it are and also choose to ignore the advice of the person most qualified on the forum to help, because its not an answer you want to hear

You can just wish shit like this to fix itself and its really hard to even begin to try if thorough testing isnt possible

Err what back story? No back story to this problem as I've already explained. Started one day after re-installing the diff some weeks ago. Nothing had been done under the bonnet.

If I understood it all, I wouldn't be asking for the help. And who are you referring to as 'the most qualified' and how would one know this? Do they advertise it? And what advice have I ignored? Only advice I have 'ignored' is 'Why don't you take it to a mechanic' as I'd like to do a little tinkering or at least investigation myself first. What was the purpose of this forum for again?

OH. Just remembered... First thing I did when the problem first occurred was call my mechanic! He suggested 'maybe' oxy sensors was a good place to start (see first post). I do understand though, that a problem like this is likely not a 5 minute fix, as much as that would be nice, and a bit of 'discussion' is usually necessary.

I don't recall requesting a wish to be granted.

Anyone familiar with their engine can check for leaky vacuum hoses for example.
