When was the box built? How many km? Was it rebuilt properly with all new bearings & seals etc?

I don't know when it was built or how many kms it's done. I installed it in my ute to make sure it was all good. It came in a car I purchased

He might not be as dodgy as you think. He may have been told it was a reduction box in a non going Zook he brought. Checked it worked in his ute, then sold it. It's been almost a year. Some people go through mobile numbers regularly, and he may also have sold his Zook and all associating bits and left the forum as a lot of people do when they no longer have that passion.

But then again he may have pulled a dodgy. I'm not defending him however. Just may be something else to think about.

I heard when you get reductions gears you can tell straight away that they are there. If you were going to test them and see if it all worked wouldn't you go for a decent cruise and test 2H 4H and 4L, check for whines etc otherwise why would you sell something for so much?
You could be right about him not being active here anymore though and it has been quite a while - I did see my PM get out of my outbox within the next few days so pretty sure he has read my PM.
