There is a smart way to design them so there is less leverage on those chassis clamps. ;)

Have a very good look at the body mounts :)

I'd rather lever off the chassis than the body mounts......

At least the chassis is a closed section.

If you use the body mounts as a base, You can work back to the chassis with 1 clamp. Using the body mounts uses the strength from the chassis, AND body frame while still keeping each one seperate to each other.

I have the MIC sliders on my jimny, They use the Body mounts. It's no secret that I'm dubious of the total strength, see my thread in members rides section. It's the leverage that would be applied to the body mounts, it's still too high.

Your idea above is great, I reckon because of the body mounts you could halve the number of mounts from slider to chasis, and just use one, so that each slider is mounted at three points, once to the chasis leg and the other two to the body mounts. I have no doubt this would be very strong.

Prior to this I was thinking of having two beams linking the sliders, and position them across the transfer case about 40 -50cm apart this would be hard as and scould incorporate a transfer case guard.

The Jimny body mounts are fairly strong. They are boxed.

I wouldnt do this for a sierra though. The taper rubber design is abit shit. Jimnys use flat rubbers with a recess.

No they are getting the weld performed to the engineers wants/needs/specs by a welder certified at a level the engineer is happy with.
