Hey all,

Since my current failed attempt at replacing my old and busted SWB Vitara's driver's seat with a LWB one (I know, I know ) has failed miserably, I think It's time I upgraded to some nice seats.

Anyways, browsing through Fatzook's Twin Stick Off Road page, I found the perfect mounting bracket to which I can attach bucket seats and do a

I have a fairly limited budget for each front seat (Bunnings don't pay that well!) (approx $200-$250 each). If they're good-quality/condition pre-owned doesn't bother me.

The only conditions are that they need to be recline-able, comfy, and look cool (and within budget).

Any recommendations?

I'll weigh in.

Go to the wreckers and sit in some seats. Most OEM seats will be WAY more comfortable than any aftermarket seat in your price range.

The local pull-it- yourself wrecker charges $115 a pair for seats, regardless f what they are from.

Try the jap wreckers too. Alot of Jap cars come with good quality, supportive bucket seats.

was a grand worth of seats/frames & i got them off ebay, i think they came out of a proton satria GTI or sporty jap mirage.

I'm thinking of doing one seat at a time, first buy a pair of TSOR mounts, and install the driver's seat + TSOR mount, then buy a second identical seat for the passenger side over 2 pays.

I think that would be financially the best option.

yeah it's a bit of an act to get in & out of with out destroying even the small bolsters on the recaro's.

Yeah it gets annoying trying to enter the car without pain. But once you're in it's good. Comfy and on those side angles it keeps you upright!

Yep.

If it has 'RECARO' stamped on it, you can be sure its a good seat, but they; as do all aftermarket seats; come in different widths etc, so it really does help if you can sink your arse into one before paying for it.

X2 cheap aftermarket seats are rubbish compared to good oem ones.

The previous owner installed aftermarket bucket seats.
So uncomfortable.

I found a nice pair of seats from a pick-a-part wrecker for $75/pair.
The seats were out of a low km hatchback baleno.

Significantly better.

The seats of of the Chrysler Voyager look the goods.

dude try self serv e auto parts at wacol (boundry rd) they sell pairs of front seats for $50 -$100 and have all makes of cars, so go down find a pair u like and pull them out
