Ive installed a g16b out of a baleno in my Sierra. I've retained the standard baleno fuse and relay boxes. I couldn't find a vitara efi tank bit or a coily tank. So I have an external fuel pump mounted. It's a VL turbo pump, bosch 070. The car runs fine as it was setup, however I know the stock tank isnt baffled well for EFI. So I've mounted a 1 liter surge tank and a 4 - 6psi dak dak pump. The VL pump is run by the baleno relay to turn it on and for priming when the ignition goes to 'on'. My question is, can I splice the wire that I ran to power the VL pump from the baleno relay, into the dak dak pump? Or should I run another relay for it separately?

same switching from the ecu will be fine, depending on what relay and wiring and so on you used it might be ok or you might need to upgrade it a bit

Well it's got the standard run of the mill baleno wiring loom to fuel pump, including relay. Can ya work your noob CAD magic mister Royce to paint a clearer picture in my mind of how it would go if I were to use two new relays down near the pumps? I was thinking something like this.

Stock relay power wire to pump -----------
Relay (bridge to other??) Relay
l l
l l
l Power wire to VL pump l Power wire to dak dak

Would some thing that work?

How big is the baleno fuel pump fuse? the problem might be the circuit cant supply enough current to 2 pumps and will blow the fuse or melt the box a bit

Yeah, which is why i'm thinking two relays down near the pumps to supply power. Or even up in the engine bay to make things easier.

Ok, will this work for two pumps? Where it says blue/black wire from harness, this could be substituted for the original power wire i'm running for the VL pump but splice the wire into two relays yeah? Just trying to wrap my head around shit before I stick stuff where it doesn't belong and shep it.

no no no no no

find the stock relay, remove it and grab a generic relay

from the wires from the stock relay youll have one that goes to teh ECU, hook this to pin 85
youll have one that has power all the time or when the key is on, this goes to pin 86
run a correct size wire from a decent battery supply, with fuse close to the battery as possible, hook to pin 30

run same decent wire down to the pumps, hooked to pin 87



Alternately, just piggy back the new pump off the one alrteay there and see what happens, the cabling might alreay be good enough

Can I run the stock relay for the dak dak,
but splice the ECU wire into the new relay pin 85
the constant wire when ignition on to pin 86
Then do the fused battery cable to pin 30 and the same gauge wire to pin 87?

no, you arent allowed to run 2 relays when 1 is fine cause its stupid and we are trying to stamp that out this month

But for real. Don't bother with two relays? Just one good 30A one, big gauge wires and splice the power wire at the pumps.

yep but the camira ext pump I just changed mine to is silent.

swimmer pumps are great while running but I bet they suck arses when you have to pull one out on a muddy winters track, unlike my 2 minute ext pump

I've run an external for years with much abuse, mud, salt, heat, vibration and have not had a drama. I only trust Bosch though as I've seen to many others fail on performance cars. Commodore Bosch external, cheap, easy and common if you're stuck in bum fuck Idaho.

I assume so, it's an 88 model SWB WT and the previous owner did the engine swap and ute chop. It has an almighty dint that reduces capacity somewhat even though the tank it much higher than stock now safe and sound so I assume it is the stock tank. Never had the car stall due to fuel starvation.

I am however about to fit a 70L RCI tank, lift pump, surge tank and retain the existing commodore external just for extra fuel capacity.
