ok so my new lwb 1ltr keeps heating up
anything over 70 km/phr for a sustained period over 30 degrees and the temp goes up to 3/4, same when it sits at the lights for extended periods.
heres the thing its got a new head, new radiator, new thermostat, new water pump, tried adjusting the timing
other than shoving a 1.3 rad in what else could it be ?
oh and fan and shroud are like new

I had the same problem, crap from the block was blocking the tubes in a new radiator.
Either have a look through the filler cap in your radiator or stick a stocking over the top inlet hose drive around a little and have a look.

is the gauge accurate ?
is the fan surround in good condition ?
does it cool down again when you slow down or does it stay hot ?

yeah the thermostat i took out was brand new and i replaced it with a genuine one, same prob.
just ordered one of those $150 alloy 1.3 sierra rads from ebay
ive had sucess with them in the past, and i would have needed to upgrade later if i do a conversion anyway.
now i play the waiting game
