Hi guys,just trying to sort out what the 13B motor actually is,i thought it was the Twin Cam version of the 13BA.In the Oz. Bosch Spark Plug catalogue the listing is "11-95 to 12-97,G13B(SOHC)" but my Coily has 13BA on the engine plate,just trying to sort out the correct plug to fit.TIA.

G13A is the older 1.3 carb.
G13BA is the newer 1.3 carb.
G13B is the Twin Cam GTi motor from a swift.
G13BB is the jimny motor.

You want the correct plug for what - the SOHC 8v G13 engine?

NGK BPR6ES or Nippon Denso W20EPR-U

You can find G13B 8v SOHC engines & G13B 16v DOHC engines - I have one of each - and if any one want to argue, I will provide the chassis number of the vehicle and let you look it up and see what Suzuki says it left the factory with, and you WILL find the engine number prefixed G13B and that it is a carburetted 8v SOHC 1298cc engine.

Incidentally - you can also find G13K 16v DOHC engines - I've seen it with my own eyes.

So my 1298cc G13BA is different to that one?

In Australia we have G13ba, BPR5ES in Sierra, I always used BKR5EY as the smaller hex was easier to work with around the exhaust heat shield and the Y means the electrode is grooved

only Swifts had a 6 heat range in em, crazy but its how they list em

Thanks for the replies,i have a coily,according to the engine plate the engine is a 13BA but i was told the electronic ignition coilys use a different plug to the earlier engines.I was just trying to get the Bosch plugs at SuperCheap while they were on special.

Coilies use the same BPR5ES as earlier Sierras.

Do coily's still have the sticker under the bonnet? my 91 and 88 had sparkplug numbers on a sticker

Genuine Plug for ANY SJ sierra is BP5ES regardless if its 1.3 or 1.0, Not BPR5ES. The after market books arn't correct, zuks dont use resisted plugs, any auto shop sells the correct ones, SF swift with the same engine genuine recomendation is BP6ES, never been told why they use a different heat range, but there you go.......
