Anyone know how hard it is to remove an ARB bullbar from a Jimny. Im going to add a Kayak rack to the front of the bullbar and thought I would respray it while I had it off.

I presume its just bolted on. Any tips or tricks. Any way I can hurt myself???????

Instead of removing the bar I might just paint what I am going to weld to the bar. What colour code is ARB Black?

many, depending of the level of creativity u put into it, just make sure to take pics

They are quite heavy, its best to do it with two people, or have some way to securely hold it up while you remove the last bolts, you dont want it dropping on you !

I think it would be better/safer to remove it to weld on it...

They are not heavy I reckon. Have taken mine of a couple of times and I reckon my Sierra arb bar is heavier then the Jimny one.
Take the bolts out that detaches the bar from the chassis plates.
You don't need to take the chassis plates of unless you wanna paint them as well.

There are three bolts at each end if you just wanna take the bar off.
Two up inside the bar and one down below the chassis.
Should pull straight of then.

If you wanna take the hole thing of then I'm not sure just undo all the bolts and it shall come of eventually

Forgot to add it is better if you have a second person there to lift the bar to get the last bolts out. I managed on my own but for your safety it better to have help.

I took my bar off on the weekend.
It's not ARB but it's still made of hard steel.
When the last bolt was undone (me sitting cross legged infront of the car) it swung down at twice the speed of the fulcrum point and now i have a graze down my nose.

ARB Jimny bars are easy, you just have to drop the bolts that bolt the bar to the crushcans, you should be able to take the bar off by yourself easily mate.
