I am need of a size of nut that does not seem to exist.

On the firewall of the Jimny they have used threaded studs that are 5mm x 1.5mm pitch. These are used to secure cable clamps and the sound deadning sheet, with plastic nuts. I am using 3 posts to mount my fuse/relay block and would like to secure with metal nuts. Any where I can get some of these? Or blind nuts and a thread tap.

Ok, yes I know what nutserts are and I have a borrowed kit in my posession atm. I have used a few, but these aren't what I am after.

There is a threaded stud coming out from the firewall and I want a nut to suit to replace the plastic clips and nuts. I did consider retapping, but that would destroy half of what is there and leave little material.

Here is one of the clips and posts in question.


I've actually removed those clips and am planning on using rubber lined hose clamps.

Its not real thread form but have seen steel pressed sheet metal hex nuts that will fit.
On 80'ish cars usually hanging on to trim or in under dash applications, but they are not much
better than plastic nuts you've got. Use some M5 coarse Brass hex nuts, force than on with
loctight. Use 2 per stud if possible, better than rubber line hose clamps and should be able to
remove than later.
