I have an AE82 Hatch with a 4AGE twin cam engine, It's just run out of rego. I should go and get it rego'd but CBF so I'm offering it up here to see if anyone wants it for an engine conversion. The engine has quite a few Km's, blow's a puff of smoke when you give it a bit of stick but starts and runs just fine, A rebuild would find those horsies that have escaped over the years. Overall the car is a good little shitbox runabout that screams potential. $500 and you can take the whole car except for the fluffy dice, rust is complimentary. edited 16/8/12NOW SELLING WITH 5 MONTHS REGO

Hey Lewy !!
Yeah it'll pass without much issue, all depends where you take it but the pod filter may be the main problem, I do have an airbox from an AE92 which is slightly different but could be used. The only other thing is that the power steering hose has a slow leak, I just keep topping it up every month or so. Just degrease the area before you take it down for the pinky.

For $500 essentially your buying the engine and the brand new tyres that were put on about 2 months ago, I've got some other 13" tyres with steel rims behind the shed that I can put on and drop the price to $350 but that's if they actually fit and to get it rolling.
What I have done with it: The previous owner being a typical P plater had some crappy guages screwed into the dash so there are a few holes in it, I got rid of the shitty neon lights, repaired all the dodgy stereo wiring and replaced the head deck with the one I had in the Vit, the CD player doesn't work but radio and AUX does, who needs CD's these days. I changed the crappy 6x9's and 4" upfront with semi new ones I had in the garage. I also replaced the cheap crappy steering wheel with one out of a starlet, the only downside being that you have to turn the indicator off each time but becomes second nature after a bit. It's better that the other because your nuckles don't turn on the high beam each time you turn a corner. I also replaced the door and ignition locks, fuel, oil filters, and cleaned the pood filter. Oh and the windows actually work now, the window mechs arn't held together with gaffer tape anymore.
Like I said, It is a shitbox, but a good little shitbox that I've used to get to work and about, I've tried to bring it up to a respectable level.
Oh it's got a extractors and a fart cannon for that extra fully sickness.

Back up the top !!!!
I ended up getting it re-rego'd with 12months at the begining of the year. The only thing it needed was a new pitman arm.
AZ "mate's rates" Special $500 firm with 5 mths rego.
I have a spare gearbox that I "won" on ebay for $1 and a new reco'd clutch for it. I havn't had the need to replace it just yet, The clutch in it is still ok, I bought them because they were a good buy and one of those, I'll do it one day jobs. Fuel pump and dizzy cap were replaced when I first bought it last year, Last month the alternator shat itself so I replaced it with a 2nd hander and works just fine.
So again, It's a good shitbox runabout. Sure there are a few oil leaks, but I just keep topping it up.
No haggeling, no BS. I need it gone.

I thought about entering it in the shitbox rally too, but it is a good shit box, a bit too nice to destroy... just yet I have stuck a FS Sign with $1000 on it, I had some guy pull me over saying he'd give me $800 that night, but he was a no show. The best thing I like about it is that it has a cool pop up sunroof. The only reason I need to get rid of it is because I've now bought a Sierra, I really have no use for 3 cars and it would help fund some reduction gears
