Hey guys, so I have a standard 97 JX 4 door Vitara and on the weekend I went four-wheel driving with some mates. I found that my car, probably cos I had alot of weight in it, bottoming out a bit on some rocks, so what id like is about a 2 inch lift kit.

Does anyone know of any bargans online or an easy way to do this? are spacers for a 1" lift a good idea?

I got the front struts and four springs from Dank and they were $880 delivered to my door

But coil spacers are a cheap way out.
As long as you adjust bump stops by same amount,
and adjust shock mounts by same.

What do you guys think of these lift kits? cos im pretty sure they do not come with springs, struts or shocks and therefore would this wear on my parts as 2" is too much lift without all the new bits?

The first kit is just spring/strut spacers and rear shocks. That is hardly a lift - just a method of fixing existing sagged springs.

The second link is for a body lift - lifting the body off the chassis which will only increase height directly under your sills and allow you to fit larger tyres under the guards. The actual clearance under the vehicle will stay the same.

IMO Anything less than 4 new springs and 4 new struts/shocks is a waste of time. Replace all bushes while you're at it and your car will handle so much better than it does on the old suspension.

Cheap lift will be 30mm rear coil spacers and 15mm front. That will give you a 30mm lift. You can run std springs and struts / shocks with them.
People on here sell spacers if needed.

I have a set of Vitara 15/30mm spacers, 2nd hand Ultima struts and new Dobinson rear shocks ( bought for $220 off dank and never fitted)

Shocks and struts will suit stock to 40mm lift.

So who else sells Coil spacers on here?

Im also wondering will the coil spacers allow me to gain "guaranteed" height as the spacer will not compress with the spring thus allowing me to fit bigger tyres without them rubbing on the guards or do I still need to get a body lift?

Depends how big ya want to go, and what offset rim you're running.

30mm lift should squeeze 235s or 30s at a pinch *I think*. 31s you'll need a body lift or some pretty serious panel beating.

If your offset is crazy you'll scrub on sides of arches and/or chassis as the front wheels turn.
