Hey guys
seems nothings going right for me this time, before it was a simple out with the old and in with the new.

as mentioned in my other post's my engine is out, I took it out to put a new clutch and flywheel on aswell as some seals and hoses blah blah blah

i was running the standard sierra 1.3 clutch before hand and it was working a treat, so i fiqured id just replace it with the same setup, so i purchased these items -

assuming they would go together. any way when i put the clutch and flywheel assembly together it looked like this.


i dont know if you can see it, but the pressure plates are compressed inwards and all i have dun is bolt it up. so without before realising i have put it in the car and the clutch wont disengage when i push on the clutch pedal.

have i got the wrong clutch kit or something to go with the G16A?

any help would be amazing just now. kind of urgent as this is usually my daily driver.

Did you put the pressure plate in the right way?

the right way? if you mean put line it up with the three studs then yes otherwise im not sure what your talking about.
if you can tell by lookning at the image then let me know haha.

Sorry... Brain fade.. I've been awake for 43 hours. Just flew to and drove home from melbourne.

Did you put the CLUTCH plate in the right way?

When the pressure plate is bolted with the drive plate fitted the fingers will be pitched as you bolt it down they should flatten out but not Pitch inwards or outward if it is then the kit could be wrong or if it's a stepped flywheel the step could be incorrect. Some more pics of the Fingers with it bolted up could be handy

yea it would only go in way or the center of the plate would foul on the flywheel.

more pics will come but not today as i am doing a training coures. maybe later tonight (the engines still in the car)
the fingers were on a negatve pitch, but i would have have thought the parts i got would have fitted, there all standed.

Looking at the exedy catalog g16a/b used the same clutch kit except one later model g16b all flywheels are flat so check your old fly wheel against the new one and the old clutch ect. The pic of the flywheel shown in link you posted is clearly stepped hope that helps

im using what i thought was the same setup as what i had before which was a 1.3lt clutch kit and flywheel.
not a 1.6lt one

Theres a flywheel with a step and one without. There's two different pressure plates for each. I had a drama with mine not engaging properly when I put the wrong one in. Yours seems to be doing the reverse. You say the previous one was working fine. Sit the pressure and clutch plates side by side with the new one's and see if there's any difference.

Sorry I miss read the original post but as hybrid has stated there's a couple off different clutches for the 1.3 one flat fly wheel one with a 2mm step here in lies your problem I think

Theres only one option for a flywheel on suzistore, Also only one standard clutch setup listed on the 1.3lt Sierra.

I don't understand why there not compatible when there listed together.

EDIT: Sorry SB, I just realised that you are saying you bought their new flywheel and clutch at the same time. If that's what you mean then yes I understand your frustration. They should have supplied two items that work together. You could always remove the flywheel, bolt the clutch up then take it in in person so they can see the problem first hand.

Yea sorry should have made that clear.
That might be a good option, as I'm not especially keen on buying another flywheel or pressure plate.

It's not un common to find clutches miss packed too.
